Demographics:

The results of our readership survey indicate that 71% of the more than 23,000 men and women who read The Enterprise every week are upscale owners, presidents or managers of local businesses.

These subscribers are highly complimentary of the information The Enterprise publishes on the local business community (90% rated The Enterprise good to excellent), and they read the paper extensively (79% read half or more each week, 38% read it cover to cover), as well as passing it on to their friends and business associates. The Enterprise has an incredibly high pass around rate--approximately 4 to 5 people read each copy.

These affluent professionals are the decision makers for major home or business purchases. 72% will invest in IRAs, real estate or stocks within the next two years, and over half the subscribers interviewed intend to purchase or use office furniture (53%), office equipment (65%), or advertising (58%) during the same period.

Our readers are predominately male (76%), have a median age of 47 years, and 61% of them consider The Enterprise their primary source for local business news.

The Enterprise readers also are affecting the economy outside the office, with one-third of them traveling by air more than seven times per year. An overwhelming 91% rent out-of-town hotel rooms each year, and nearly half eat in restaurants thirteen times or more per month.

In short, the survey indicated The Enterprise continues to meet its objective of providing useful, accurate information on the local business community to its readership, and guarantees its advertisers an effective, reliable medium for reaching Salt Lake's professional, upscale men and women.
